Question Hour
Questions relating to Labour & Human Resource Department were asked and answered by Mr Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi, the concerned Minister.
Zero Hour
Two Zero Hour Notices were taken up. The Notice moved by Ms Shaheena Karim that bores of hand pumps and motor pumps had either been blocked or become filthy due to recent floods in District Rajanpur and DG Khan, compelling people to drink water from ponds. Hence, Government should take measures to install hand pumps on emergency basis and the second Notice of Ms Neelum Hayat Malik regarding alleged rape of a gypsy girl at Sialkot Sambrial, New Abadi Bungla, Daska Road by unknown accused, mutilating her tongue and nose depriving her of Rs.6,000/-, were disposed of.
Adjournment Motion
The Adjournment Motion moved by Ms. Shahida Ahmad that Harvesters being the heavy machinery were used in large number across the Punjab without registration and were earning the profit of millions of rupees every year. Hence, registration of harvesters should be made compulsory to generate revenue for Punjab Government, was kept pending.

On separate motions moved by Mr Muhammad Nadeem Qureshi and Mrs Sabrina Javaid respectively, the House granted leave to introduce the following Bills:
1. The Multan University of Science and Technology Bill 2022; and
2. The Sahara University Bill 2022.
Suspension of Rules
On separate motions moved by, Mr Muhammad Nadeem Qureshi and Mrs Sabrina Javaid, the House granted leave that the requirements of Rules 93, 94, 95 and all other relevant rules of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997 may be dispensed with in terms of Rule 234 of the Rules ibid, for immediate consideration of the above mentioned Bills, which were later passed by the House.
Ms Khadija Umer moved “The Aspire University Lahore Bill 2021” as originally passed by the Assembly and returned by the Governor under Article 116(2)(b) of the Constitution be reconsidered by the Assembly in the light of the message of the Governor, which was again passed by the House after reconsideration:
Mr Muhammad Afzal, Ms Sadia Sohail Rana and Ms Shaheena Karim moved the following Bills respectively as originally passed by the Assembly had neither been assented nor returned by the Governor as required under Article 116(2)(a) of the Constitution be reconsidered by the Assembly in light of this, which were again passed by the House.
1. The Bahawalpur Metropolitan University Bill 2021;
2. The Lahore City University Bill 2021; and
3. The Punjab Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Bill 2020.
Current Resolutions
1. The Resolution moved by Syed Usman Mehmood expressing deep grief and sorrow over the tragedy of a boat drowned in the Indus River District Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Mochka. The House prayed for the departed souls and condoled with the families. The Mover demanded the Punjab Government to immediately announce financial assistance for the dependents of the deceased, was kept pending.
2. Ms Shaheena Karim moved a Resolution expressing deep concern over the intensive and unfair increase in the prices of petroleum products and electricity in the last 4 months and demanded the Federal Government to immediately reduce the prices of petroleum products in the light of prices given by international market and follow public relief formula devised by the previous Government of PTI because it was obvious that increase in the prices of petroleum products and electricity was giving rise to price hike which was unbearable for a common man, was passed by the House.
The House was then adjourned at 07:10 p.m. to meet on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 03:00 p.m.
