Profile of the Legislative council of Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab (1913-1916)
Historical Development
Though the third Council of the Lieutenant Governor was also constituted in accordance with the provisions of the Indian Councils Acts of 1861, 1892 and 1909. However, when the Government of India Act, 1915 was passed (to consolidate the provisions of these above Acts), the Council functioned under the 1915 Act. The membership was increased by four; 03 seats to be filled by election and 01 by nomination. The Council held 14 meetings during its life.
