Ahmad Iqbal Chaudhary was born on February 3, 1985. He has extensive experience in the private sector, development sector, and government.
He began his career as an investment banker with KASB-Merrill Lynch (Bank of America) in Karachi. He later worked on climate finance, urban transport, and urban competitiveness with the World Bank Group, International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities in Washington, USA. Additionally, he contributed to economic development initiatives at King Abdullah Economic City in Saudi Arabia.
In 2016, Ahmad Iqbal Chaudhary was elected Chairman, District Council Narowal. During his tenure, he led the Chief Minister Punjab’s Committee on Local Government Empowerment and served as a Technical Member of the Provincial Finance Commission.
A staunch advocate of empowered local governments and sustainable human settlements, he has represented Pakistan at various international forums, including COP29, LDC5, and the Strong Cities Network.
Ahmad Iqbal Chaudhary earned a Bachelor of Science (Honors) from the Lahore School of Economics and holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government, where he was awarded the prestigious Institutional Service Award.
