Syed Abbas Ali Shah son of Pir Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah was born on April 3, 1972 at Village Rotla, District Khanewal. He obtained his early education from Aitchison College, Lahore and did Matric from there. Later, he graduated from University of the Punjab, Lahore. He remained Member, District Council Khanewal during 1998-99 and as Naib Tehsil Nazim Mian Channu for two terms during 2001-09. An agriculturist, who has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2018 and has served as Chief Whip/Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs. He has travelled to Iran, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Damascus, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Dubai. He comes from a family of renowned politicians. His maternal grandfather, Makhdoom Nasir-ud-Din Shah served as Member, Punjab Legislative Council during 1937-45; as Member, Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan during 1965-69; and as Chairman, District Council Faisalabad. His uncle, Syed Qalandar Hussain Shah was Member of District Council Multan during 1983-86. His maternal uncle, Makhdoom Syed Ali Raza Shah remained Member National Assembly during 1985-88 and as Member, Punjab Assembly during 1977, 1988-90 (also functioned as Minister), 1990-93, 1993-96 (also functioned as Advisor to CM), and 2008-16; and his uncle, Pir Khizer Hayat Shah remained Member Punjab Assembly during 1977. His another uncle, Makhdoom Syed Muhammad Mukhtar Hussain Shah served as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1993-96 and 2002-07. His father was Member of District Council Multan during 1983-86 and Nazim Union Council Rotla Mian Channu for two terms during 2001-09.
