Mr Hussain Jahania Gardezi son of Syed Mohib Jahania Gardezi was born on November 6, 1956 at Multan. He obtained the degree of M.Sc(Hons) in 1980 from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. An agriculturist, who served as Leader of Opposition, Zila Council, Khanewal during 1991-93. He was first elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1993 and performed the duties of Minister for Cooperatives and was again elected as Member Punjab Assembly in 2002 and functioned as Minister for Food and Literacy & Non-Formal Basic Education. He remained Member, Punjab Assembly during 2013-18 and served as Member Committee on Privileges. He has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab for the fourth term in General Elections 2018 and is serving as Minister for Agriculture. He functioned as Minister for Management & Professional Development Department during 2018-2020. He has travelled to Denmark, USA, China, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq. He belongs to a renowned political family. His uncle, Syed Ali Hussain Shah Gardezi was Member, Punjab Legislative Assembly for two terms during 1951-58 and served as Minister for Industries during 1951-55; his uncle, Mr Abbas Hussain Gardezi was Member of National Assembly during 1972-77; and his another uncle, Mr Muhammad Razi Shah Gardezi was Member of Punjab Assembly during 1972-77 and 1977. His cousin, Mr Muhammad Ahsan was Member of Punjab Assembly during 1985-88 and 1990-93.
