Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool ﷺ.
Oath
Mr. Shehryar Malik, member-elect (PP-23 - Chakwal-IV) made an oath and signed the Roll of Members. The Speaker administered the oath.
Question Hour
Questions relating to Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering Department were asked and Syed Haroon Ahmed Sultan Bokhari, Minister for Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal (holding additional charge of HUD & PHE Department) answered the questions.
Extension in Time Limit for Laying the Reports
On a Motion moved by Mr Muhammad Saqib Khurshid, the House granted one year extension from 03 April 2017 to the Public Accounts Committee-I for laying its report on “Special Audit Report of Auditor General of Pakistan in respect of Punjab Government Expenditure for the year 2008-09.
On a Motion moved by Mian Irfan Daultana, the House granted one year extension from 14 February 2017 to the Public Accounts Committee-II for laying its report on “Report of Auditor General of Pakistan in respect of Punjab Government Expenditure for the year 2013-14.
Laying of Reports
Sardar Bahadar Khan Maken presented before the House the report of Standing Committee on Agriculture in respect of “Starred Question No.7166 asked by Mr Ehsan Riaz Fatyana, MPA (PP-58).
Ch Amjad Ali Javed presented before the House the report of Standing Committee on Health in respect of “Zero Hour No.175/17 moved by Mr Asif Mehmood, MPA (PP-9).
Adjournment Motions
Four Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Mr Asif Mehmood regarding lithotripsy machine lying out of order for the last four months in Rawalpindi Benazir General Hospital and patients have to pay extra to visit private hospitals for the purpose, the second Motion moved by Ms. Shabina Zakria Butt regarding government land rent out by Revenue Department Sambrial which was purchased by the government from the farmers for the construction of Sweedish Engineering University and money is not deposited in national exchequer rather going in the pockets of officers of the department, the third Motion moved by Dr Muhammad Afzal regarding establishment of beauty parlors in Shahkot and its precincts, where sub-standard products and unhygienic equipment is used, causing serious skin diseases among women and the last Motion moved by Ms Hina Pervaiz Butt regarding chemically coloured and washed fruits and vegetables are being sold in the market by the farmers to earn extra profit which are injurious to human health and are causing fatal diseases, were kept pending till next week.
