THE PUNJAB PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS (PROMOTION AND REGULATION) (AMENDMENT) BILL 2017 (BILL NO. 03 OF 2017)
A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill 2017, as recommended by Standing Committee on Education, be taken into consideration at once.
A MINISTER to move that the Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill 2017, be passed.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool ﷺ.
Question Hour
Questions relating to Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department were asked and Mr. Hassaan Riaz, Parliamentary Secretary for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education answered the questions.
Extension in Time Limit for Laying the Reports
On a Motion moved by Ch Muhammad Akram, the House granted two months extension to the Standing Committee on Education for laying its reports in respect of the following:
1. Adjournment Motion No.1093 moved by Mian Tariq Mehmood, MPA (PP-113);
2. Starred Question No.3539 asked by Mr Muhammad Arshad Malik, Advocate, MPA (PP-222);
3. Starred Question No.7681 asked by Haji Imran Zafar, MPA (PP-111);
4. Starred Question No.4980 asked by Mr Shahzad Munshi, MPA (NM-369);
5. Starred Question No.7169 asked by Mr Abdul Majeed Khan Niazi, MPA (PP-262); and
6. Starred Question No. 2588 asked by Dr Nausheen Hamid, MPA (W-356).
On a Motion moved by Rana Liaqat Ali, the House granted two months extension to the Standing Committee on Health for laying its reports in respect of the following:
1. The Punjab Prohibition of Sheesha Smoking Bill 2014 (Bill No.6 of 2014) moved by Ch Shahbaz Ahmad MPA (PP-143);
2. Matter raised by Mian Mehmood-ur –Rasheed, MPA/Leader of Opposition on a point of order regarding allegations of corruption/irregularities in procurement of medical/surgical items;

On a Motion moved by Ch Muhammad Ashraf, the House granted two months extension to the Standing Committee on Food for laying its report on Starred Question No. 7621 asked by Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal, MPA (PP-148).
Call Attention Notice
The Call Attention Notice moved by Malik Umar Farooq regarding murder of eighteen years old boy naming Usama Butt on resistance by the dacoits in a bakery located at Khanpur Road, Taxila city, was disposed of.
The Notice was replied by Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Privilege Motion
The Privilege Motion moved by Syed Muhammad Mahfooz Mashahdi regarding DCO, Mandi Bahauddin who kept waiting for long four hours the members of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab including the member concerned in his office despite confirmation by the officer that he is reaching his office within 30 minutes to see the members, was referred to the Committee on Privileges with the direction to submit its report within two months.
Adjournment Motion
The Motion moved by Ms. Khadija Umar regarding butchers fleecing general public through demanding desirable rates of meat and inability of administration to take action against them, was disposed of.
The motion was replied by the concerned Minister/Parliamentary Secretary.

Consideration and Passage of Bill
Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs moved THE PUNJAB PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS (PROMOTION AND REGULATION) (AMENDMENT) BILL 2017 (BILL NO. 03 OF 2017), which was passed by the House.
