Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).
Question Hour
Questions relating to Industries, Commerce & Investment and Cooperative Departments were asked and Ch. Muhammad Shafique, Minister for Industries, Commerce & Investment and Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar, Minister for Cooperative answered the questions.
Privilege Motion
Mr. Muhammad Saqib Khurshid moved a Privilege Motion against Mr. Nasir Jamal Hotiana, DCO, Vehari, who failed to perform his duty on 14 August 2015 and then on 23 March, 2016 by not hoisting national flag in time i.e. 9:00 am (sharp) and tried to show his supremacy was referred to the Committee on Privileges.
The answer was given by Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Adjournment Motions
Five Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Ch. Ashraf Ali Ansari regarding non-issuance of Roll No. Slips to Class 9 students due to technical fault in the computer system and Gujranwala Board is charging Rs.2200/- per student to issue them Roll No. Slip, the Motion moved by Mian Tariq Mehmood regarding dilapidated condition of rest houses of Irrigation Department at Gujrat, the Motion moved by Ms. Khadija Umar regarding quacks who are looting poor patients by prescribing them high potency medicines which later on become fatal, the Motion moved by Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed regarding disclosure of corruption of billions of rupees in Higher Education by its officers and heads of department in different colleges by audit in its recent report and the Motion moved by Mr. Ahmad Shah Khagga regarding sale of expired medicines in the market on higher rates after changing its packing used for the treatment of Tuberculosis in connivance with Health Department, were kept pending till next week.
