Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).

Question Hour

Questions relating to Colonies Department were asked and Ch. Zahid Akram, Parliamentary Secretary for Colonies answered the questions.

Adjournment Motions

Five Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Mian Tariq Mehmood regarding holding a press conference in Government College for Women, Dinga, District Gujrat, by its Principal and Deputy Director (Colleges), Higher Education hence indulging in political activities and using the building premises for political reasons, therefore, violating Civil Servants Rules, the Motion moved by Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed regarding C & W Department Lahore deceiving Punjab Government by submitting false report to Chief Minister Punjab that Punjab Rural Roads Programme has been completed and 255 roads comprising 2200 KM distance have been completed in 32 districts of Punjab, two Motions moved by Ms. Khadija Umar one regarding open sale of dangerous and harmful intoxicants including “gutka” and “kawam” on panshops in Lahore resulting in death of hundreds of people and the second Motion that even theft of revenue record in more than 3000 Patwar Circles, foolproof security system could not be devised by the Revenue Department, were kept pending. The Motion moved by Mr. Ahmad Shah Khagga that due to unsymmetrical walls erection of Mustafa Abad bridge, BRB canal  water is badly effecting the Degree College and track adjacent to it, was disposed of.

The Motions were answered by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

Private Members Day

Resolution kept pending on February 16, 2016 agenda

The amended resolution of Rana Munawar Hussain alias Rana Munawar Ghous Khan to take steps/measures for the treatment and prevention of Hepatitis (in all the Districts of Punjab especially) in District Rajanpur and Dera Gazi Khan and establishment of  Hepatitis centers in District Headquarters Hospitals of these districts where free of cost injections and medicines should be available to the patients, was unanimously passed by the House.

Present Resolutions

1.    The Resolution moved by Ms. Hina Pervaiz Butt demanding to take steps to facilitate women across the Province to get technical education, was kept pending on the request of the mover.

2.    The Resolution moved by Mr. Muhammad Sibtain Khan urging the government to take concrete measures to ensure provision of clean drinking water to the population, was unanimously passed by the House.

3.    The Resolution moved by Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema demanding computerized attendance of doctors and staff in all the public hospitals of the province, moreover, computerized record of medicines given to the patients and operations done should be maintained, was disposed of as mover was not present.

4.    The Resolution moved by Sheikh Ala-ud-Din demanding the federal government to put ban on luxury Hajj packages, costing around Rs.1.5 million per person offered by the private operators and urging the government to take sole responsibility for Hajj and Umra operation in accordance with the decision of Islamic Ideology Council, was unanimously passed by the House.

5.    Ms.‏ Azma Zahid Bukhari moved the resolution urging the federal government to put ban on the enactment and dramatization of crimes and criminal cases shown on all TV channels, was unanimously passed by the House.

The House was then adjourned till Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 10:00 am.

"یہ ایوان وفاقی حکومت سے سفارش کرتا ہے کہ اسلامی نظریاتی کونسل کے فیصلے کے مطابق حج و عمرہ کو صرف اور صرف حکومتی ذمہ داری قرار دیا جائے اور پرائیویٹ حج و عمرہ ٹور آپریٹرز جو اب (Luxury) حج کا 15 لاکھ روپے تک وصول کر رہے ہیں کو اس اہم مذہبی ذمہ داری کو منافع بخش کاروباری حیثیت میں چلانے سے روکا جائے۔"
