Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).
Mr. Speaker welcomed Honorable Guest, Jan Muhammad Jamali, Speaker, Balochistan Assembly in the Speaker Box.
Fateha:-
The House offered fateha for the martyrs of Peshawar Attack on the Army Public High School.
Suspension of Rules:-
On a motion moved by Mr. Bilal Yasin, Minister for Food under Rule 234 of Rules of Procedure of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, the House granted leave to suspend Rules 42, 71, 84 and others of the Rules ibid, to mourn and to provide an opportunity to members of both Treasury and Opposition to offer their heartfelt condolences and reflect on the massacre of Army Public High School students in Peshawar.
From the Treasury benches Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Minister for Labour & Human Resource, Ms. Azma Zahid Bukhari, Rana Muhammad Arshad, Dr. Farzana Nazir, Malik Zulqarnain Dogar, Malik Muhammad Waris Kallu and Ch. Amjad Ali Javaid expressed their resolve to fight against terrorism and avenge the deaths of innocent children.
From the Opposition benches Sardar Shahab-ud-Din Khan, Sardar Vickas Hassan Mokal, Ch. Aamir Sultan Cheema and Mr. Ehsan Riaz Fatyana vowed to fight against terrorism till its logical end and urged that country could not afford confrontation among the national political parties as the state was in serious situation.
The House was then adjourned till 3:00 p.m on Monday, 22nd December, 2014.
