Khawaja Salman Rafique son of Khawaja Muhammad Rafique was born on February 16, 1965. He was Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2008-13 and functioned as Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Health. He has returned to Punjab Assembly for the second term in bye-elections held on August 22, 2013 against the seat vacated by Mian Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, who had won both National and Provincial seats and opted for National Assembly seat. He is functioning as Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education. He also served as Advisor to CM on Health. His brother, Khawaja Saad Rafique was Member of Punjab Assembly during 1997-99, a Member of National Assembly during 2002-07 and 2008-13 and is a sitting MNA and is functioning as Minister for Railways. His mother was also a Member of Punjab Assembly during 1985-88; and his sister-in-law, Mrs Ghazala Saad Rafique was Member of Punjab Assembly during 2008-13.
