Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).
Question Hour
Questions relating to Finance and Environment Protection Departments were asked and Mrs. Zakia Shah Nawaz Khan, Minister for Population Welfare (holding additional charge of Environment Protection) and Rana Babar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Finance answered the questions.
Call Attention Notices
Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Call Attention Notice moved by Mr. Jafar Hussain Hocha regarding dacoity of currency/ jewelry at the residence of Muhammad Pervaiz s/o Muhammad Bashir located at Tandlianwala, district Faisalabad was kept pending and the Notice of Ms. Shunila Ruth regarding kidnapping and killing of Mian Muhammad Fakhar, an agriculturist of Farid Kot, district Pakpattan, was disposed of.
The Notices were answered by Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Laying of Reports
Mrs. Shameela Aslam presented before the House the report of Standing Committee on Education in respect of the following:
1. The Ali Institute of Education Lahore (Amendment) Bill 2015 (Bill No. 47 of 2015);
2. The Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan (second Amendment) Bill 2015 (Bill No. 48 of 2015); and
3. The Punjab Education Foundation (Amendment) Bill 2015 (Bill No. 4 of 2016).
At this stage, the quorum was pointed out and the House was adjourned till Friday February 26, 2016 at 9:00 am.
