Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).
Question Hour
Questions relating to Irrigation Department were asked and Ch Khalid Mehmood Jajja, Parliamentary Secretary for Irrigation answered the questions.
Fateha
The House offered Fateha on the sad demise of six children in a tragic incident of fire occurred at Shadbagh, Lahore due to late arrival of fire brigade to the scene to stop fire from spreading.
Privilege Motion
The Privilege Motion moved by Syed Ejaz Hussain Bukhari regarding misbehavior of Mrs Uzma, DEO, Attock with the member concerned was referred to the Privileges Committee.
The Motion was answered by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Adjournment Motions
Two Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Mr Amjad Ali Javed, one regarding to restrain marking of papers of 8th class in the province by Punjab Examination Commission due to mismanagement and non-availability of answer keys of papers, that fact admitted by Secretary Education Punjab with the commitment to pass all the students, which has put the future of students at stake and finances used to operate this system stands wasted and the Motion moved by Mr Ahmad Shah Khagga regarding 60 percent increase in the number of professional and habitual beggars in Punjab who use crossings and chowks as their points of begging and sell them for heavy amounts and female beggars carrying handicapped children are also sold consequently, crime rate is on the rise were disposed of.
The Motions were answered by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
At this stage, the quorum was pointed out and the House was adjourned till Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 10:00 am.
