Mrs Raheela Anwar wife of Col (Retd) Anwar Khan Afridi was born on February 20, 1956 at Jhelum. She is a Matriculate. She has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in general elections 2013 against one of the seats reserved for women. She served as Member, District Assembly during 2002-07. She has travelled to Saudi Arabia, UK and Dubai. She belongs to a family of renowned politician. Her father, Nawabzada Malik Afzal Mehdi was Member National Assembly of Pakistan during 1962-65 and 1965-66; her brother, Nawabzada Iqbal Mehdi remained Member Punjab Assembly during 1985-88 and functioned as Minister for Forestry, Wildlife & Fisheries and as Advisor to Chief Minister; served as Member National Assembly for four consecutive terms during 1988-99. Her maternal grandfather, Raja Khair Mehdi Khan was Member Punjab Legislative Assembly during 1946-47, 1947-49, 1951-55 and Member, Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan during 1956-58. Her uncle, Raja Lehraseb Khan remained Member National Assembly of Pakistan during 1967-69; her grandfather, Nawab Malik Talib Mehdi served as Member Punjab Legislative Council during 1927-30; and her great-grandfather, Raja Karim Ullah Khan was Member of Punjab Legislative Council during 1921-23.
