CHAUDHRY SAEED IQBAL, MPA

Chaudhry Saeed Iqbal, son of Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, was born in Jhelum on May 15, 1957; and, is a matriculate. He served as member District Council Jhelum for three years, and as Chairman, Union Council Bokun, District Jhelum for over four years. A businessman and social worker, he has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997.

RAJA MUHAMMAD KHALID KHAN, MPA
PP-21 (Jhelum): PML(N)
Raja Muhammad Khalid Khan, son of Captain (Retd) Gulstan Khan, was born at Mohara Akra, Tehsil Sohawa, District Jhelum on March 9, 1942; and did F.Sc in 1961 from Gorden College Rawalpindi. He is an agriculturist and businessman, as well as social worker. He served as Assessor in the Sessions Court Jhelum; as Chairman Union Council Sohawa, for four years; and, as member District Council Jhelum for three years. He represented Pakistan as leader of the delegation at the International Union of Local Authorities in Brazil, South America in 1985; and, also visited Iran in 1988, as member of official delegation headed by the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, to participate in the death anniversary of Iman Khumini.
He was first elected as member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1985, followed by his return to it in 1988 and 1990. He has been re-elected to the Assembly in 1997 for the fourth term. He functioned as Minister for Labour in 1990; as member of Public Accounts Committee No. 1 of the Assembly from 1985 to 88; and, was elected its Chairman in 1988. He has been elected as Chairman Public Accounts Committee No. I.

NAWABZADA SYED SHAMAS HAIDER, MPA
PP-22 (Jhelum): PML(N)/JUP
Nawabzada Syed Shamas Haider, son of Syed Maqbool Ahmed and grandson of Nawab Sir Mehir Shah, was born in Lahore on December 23, 1957; did his graduation in 1981 from F.C. College Lahore; and, acquired BBA degree in 1983 from Ohio University USA. He comes of a prominent religious-cum-political family of the Punjab, and his close relatives have been serving the national as well as the provincial legislatures. He had been functioning as member of District Council Jhelum for seven years; was first elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1993; and, has been re-elected in 1997. He is Parliamentary Secretary (Ceased to hold office of Parliamentary Secretary upon proclamation of Emergency dated 12-10-99) for Health since October 13, 1997.
