Mian Zahid Nawaz, son of Mian Mehfooz Ahmad (former MPA), was born on February 20, 1957 at Mahfoozabad Vehari; and, obtained the degree of LL.B. in 1980 from the Punjab University Law College Lahore. An agriculturist and businessman, who served as member District Council Vehari from 1987 to 1993; and, has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997.

MR SAEED AHMED KHAN MANAIS

Mr Saeed Ahmed Khan Manais, son of Haji Jan Muhammad Khan, was born on August 14, 1951 at Tibba Sultanpur, District Vehari; and, did his Senior Cambridge and Intermediate from Sadiq Public School Bahawalpur; and, studied for graduation at F.C. College Lahore. He was elected as member District Council Vehari in 1979 and 1983. He had been member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1985-88, 1988-90, 1990-93; and, has been elected, for the fourth term, in 1997. He had been serving as Minister for Communication & Works from 1985 to 1987, Minister for Food during 1987-88, Minister for Agriculture from 1988 to 1990, Chairman Public Accounts Committee No.1 during 1990-93; and, Speaker, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from May 1993 to October 1993. He had also been Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab and Incharge CMIT. Presently, he is working as Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. He visited America, England, Turkey, Germany, Belgium, Holland, France, Thailand, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia.

HAJI MAHMOOD KHAN KHICHI, MPA

Haji Mahmood Khan Khichi, son of Khan Noor Muhammad Khan Khichi, was born on July 17, 1930 at Village Sargana, Tehsil Mailsi, District Vehari; and did, his graduation from Emerson College, Multan in 1952. An agriculturist, who has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab for the first time in the by-election held in December 1997 on the seat falling vacant on account of the death of his nephew Haji Ghulam Haider Khan Khichi.

MIAN MUHAMMAD SAQIB KHURSHID, MPA

Mian Muhammad Saqib Khurshid, son of Mian Khurshid Anwar (former MPA), was born on October 26, 1962 in Vehari; obtained the degree of M.A.(History) in 1986; and, Diploma in Islamic Laws in 1985. A businessman, who was first elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1993; and, has been re-elected in 1997. He is Parliamentary Secretary (Ceased to hold office of Parliamentary Secretary upon proclamation of Emergency dated 12-10-99) for Excise & Taxation since October 13, 1997.

MIAN SIKANDAR ALI KHAN DAULTANA, MPA

Mian Sikandar Ali Khan Daultana, son of Haji Mian Muhammad Islam Khan Daultana, was born on September 18, 1952 at Mauza Budh Ghulam; and, is a matriculate. An agriculturist, who served as member District Council Vehari for two years; and, has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997.

Chaudhry Nazir Ahmed, son of Chaudhry Ali Muhammad, was born on January 1, 1958 at Chak 405/EB Tehsil Borewala, District Vehari; and, did LL.B. in 1983 from University Law College Lahore. An advocate and agriculturist. who had been serving as member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1985-88, 1988-90 and 1990-1993; and, has been elected, for the fourth term, in 1997. He served as Minister for Housing & Physical Planning during 1990-93.

ALHAJ PIR ZULFIQAR ALI CHISHTI, MPA

Alhaj Pir Zulfiqar Ali Chishti, son of Alhaj Ghulam Rasool Chishti, was born in 1928 at Chak 98/EB, Sheikh Fazil, District Vehari; and, is a graduate. An agriculturist, who had been Chairman Union Council, and member District Council for three terms each. He served as Senator from 1985 to 1988; as member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 1990 to 1993; and, has been re-elected in 1997.
