Personal Career & Interests

Mr Muhammad Moeen-ud-Din Riaz Qureshi, son of Mr Riaz Hussain Qureshi, was born on March 13, 1968 at Multan; and obtained the degree of B.Sc. (Electrical Engineering) in 1991 from Washington University, USA. He served as Councillor, Municipal Corporation Multan for almost 2 years and as Nazim Union Council No.1, Multan during 2001-02. He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002; and is functioning as Minister for Sports since December 1, 2006. He belongs to a renowned political family. His father was Member National Assembly during 1988-90; his father-in-law, Pir Shujaat Hasnain Qureshi, was Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1993-96 and 1997-99; his uncle Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi was Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab duirng 198588, 1988-90 and 1990-93; Member National Assembly during 1993-96 and is a sitting MNA; and his brother-in-law, Mr Zahoor Hussain Qureshi, is a sitting Member of Punjab Assembly (PP-217).
