Mrs Durr-e-Shahwar Neelum wife of Brig (Retd) Muhammad Afzal was born on February 1, 1952 in Karachi. She graduated in 1971 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. As an observer, she participated in World Tourism Organization Conference held in Uzbekistan in 1994; and has attended several national conferences since 1995. She has been elected Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002 against one of the seats reserved for women. Her uncle, Mr Abdul Raziq Khan functioned as Speaker Sindh Assembly during 1991-93.
