Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique Anwar son of Haji Meeran Bakhsh was born in 1951 at Rahim Yar Khan. He graduated in 1973 from Government College Faisalabad. A businessman and an agriculturist, who served as Councillor, Union Council Adan Sohba, Sadiqabad during 1983; as Councillor, Municipal Committee, Sadiqabad during 1991; as Chairman Municipal Committee, Sadiqabad during 1998; and as Nazim Union Council No E-5, Sadiqabad during 2002. He has functioned as Honorary Special Magistrate during 1991; as President, Chamber of Commerce, Grain Market, Sadiqabad; and as Vice President, Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Bahawalpur. He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002. His brother-in-law, Mr Muhammad Tarique Chaudhry served as Senator during 1985-1997.
