Personal Career & Interests

Mr. Muhammad Iqbal Rais son of Rais Khuda Bakhsh was born on February 21, 1954 at Tehsil Liaquatpur, District Rahim Yar Khan. He obtained the degree of LL.B. in 1980 from Karachi University. A practicing lawyer, who served as Vice Chairman, Union Council Muhammad Daha during 1980-83; as Chairman, Union Council Muhammad Daha during 1983-87; as Member District Council District Rahim Yar Khan during 1990-92 and 1997-98; and also functioned as Nazim Union Council Muhammad Daha during 2001-02. He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002; and has been elected Chairman, Standing Committee on Mines & Minerals on September 5, 2003. His uncle/father-in-law, Rais Mushtaq Ahmad served as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1985-88 and 1993-96.
