Mr Ghulam Mohy-ud-Din Chishti son of Pir Ghulam Rasool Chishti was born at Tehsil Burewala, District Vehari. He obtained the degree of M.A. in 1971 from Karachi University and that of LL.B. in 1972 from Sindh Muslim Law College, Karachi. An agriculturist, who served Pakistan Customs, Karachi during 1980-2000. He has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002. He worked as Provincial Minister/Chief Whip from November 24, 2003 to November 30, 2006. He is functioning as Minister for Transport since December 1, 2006. His brother Pir Zulfiqar Ali Chishti was Senator during 1985-88 and Member, Punjab Assembly during 1990-93 and 1997-99; his brother-inlaw Mian Ghulam Faird Chishti was Member, Punjab Assembly during 1972-77, 1985-88, 1988-90 and 1993-96.
