Malik Muhammad Javed Iqbal Awan son of Malik Karam Bakhsh Awan was born on November 7, 1951 at Sargodha. He obtained the degree of LL.B. in 1976 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. A businessman, who was elected as President and Secretary of Students Union Government College, Sargodha and also remained President, Islamic Society, University of the Punjab, Lahore. He has served as Chairman Union Council Padhrar, District Khushab during 1979 and as Member District Council Khushab during 1998. He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002, and is functioning as Chairman, Standing Committee on Food since August 26, 2003. His father remained MNA during 1972-77 and his brother, Malik Muhammad Bashir Awan, served as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1988-90 and 1993-96.
