Personal Career & Interests

Maj (Retd) Asghar Hayat Kalyar son of Mian Muhammad Hayat Kalyar was born on September 2, 1955 at Sargodha. He was commissioned in Pakistan Army in 1977 from Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, and retired in 1992. An agriculturist, who has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002, and is functioning as Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab since January 3, 2003. His father and his uncle, Mian Khan Muhammad, were Members of Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan during 1965-69; his uncle, Mian Shamsher Ali was Member Punjab Legislative Assembly during 195155; and his cousin, Mian Muhammad Ashraf Kalyar, was Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1988-90 and 1997-99.
