Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora son of Mr R.L. Arora was born on October 11, 1974

at Nankana Sahib. He graduated from the Government College University. He is a leading Entrepreneur & prominent Sikh Leader who hails from Kartarpur, Narowal. A businessman, who has been elected as a Member, of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab for the third consecutive term in 2024. In his first tenure during 2013-18, he was the first Parliamentarian in the Punjab Assembly who came from the Sikh Community after the Independence of Pakistan in 1947.

He brought forth numerous positive innovations and significantly contributed to the parliamentary proceedings. He made history by spearheading a bill for regulation of Sikh Marriages in Punjab, of which was unanimously passed by the Punjab Assembly, resulting in the enactment of the Sikh Marriage Registration Act 2017. This landmark registration underscored PML(N)’s commitment to supporting minority rights, making Pakistan the first country to register Sikh Marriages, under its laws.

His advocacy for minority rights and interfaith harmony has garnered recognition both within Pakistan and internationally. His exemplary conduct and commitment to interfaith harmony served as a beacon of peace in the country. In recognition of his efforts, he was honored with the National Human Rights Award in 2016 by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and is also awarded as Sitar-e-Imtiaz in March 2024.

Mr Arora is currently serving as the Chairman of Central General Secretary PML (N) minority’s wing, he has played a crucial role in connecting minorities across Pakistan. Mr. Arora also Holds the office of Minister Minorities Punjab, as a minister it’s his ambition to safe guard the rights of minorities living in Punjab. He has also been appointed as the Ambassador at Large for Kartarpur Corridor, tasked with expanding Sikh diaspora. Furthermore, Mr. Arora has been recently appointed as the Pardhan Sikh Gurdawar Parpandhak Committee of Pakistan. Since, the inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor in 2019, he has been activity involved in diplomatic effort to promote Sikh pilgrimage globally, forging strong relationship with diplomats from various countries.

      

Mr. Arora consistently upholds the democratic principles of his political party, articulating PML-N's manifesto as a guiding principle. He advocates for democracy both domestically and internationally, with his interviews in international media outlets from the UK, Canada, and the USA serving as influential platforms for promoting democracy and the PML-N manifesto.

Hailing from a modest Sikh family from Punjab, Pakistan. He grew up with an interest to serve the society by learning humanity services and opted for social work as a full-time profession. He completed his MS Entrepreneurship and SME Management form the Government College University, Lahore. Mr. Arora has participated in many academic and professional development exchange programs around the globe. Mr. Arora was selected for Harvard Business School’s Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance HBS-ACCION Program in April, 2019 for accreditation of his contributions by Pakistan Micro Finance Network. During his journey of 21 years in the development sector, he has served in different not-for-profit organizations.
