Mr Sher Ali Khan son of Col Mumtaz Ali Khan was born on July 24, 1961 in Rawalpindi. He got his early education from Aitchison College, Lahore and obtained the degree of B.Sc in 1981 from FG Sir Syed College, Rawalpinidi. He is an agriculturist, who served as Member, District Council Attock during 1987-93. He remained Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2008-13 and 2013-18 and has returned to Punjab Assembly for the third term in general elections 2024. He also worked as Minister for Energy from 11-06-2013 to 12-11- 2013. He has extensively travelled abroad. He belongs to a renowned political family. His grandfather, Sardar Sir Muhammad Nawaz Khan served as Member, Central/ Punjab Legislative Assembly during 1927-49; functioned as Minister for Defence & Frontier Region during 1948-50 and as Pakistan's First Ambassador to France during 1950-52. His grandfather, Nawab Malik Amir Muhammad Khan served as Member, Punjab Legislative Assembly during 1951-55; as Member, Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan during 1956-58 and also functioned as Governor of West Pakistan during 1960- 66; his uncle, Malik Fateh Khan served as Member, Punjab Assembly during 1972-77; and his another uncle, Nawabzada Malik Muzaffar Khan remained Member, National Assembly during 1965-69, 1972-77 and 1977-77. His cousin, Malik Atta Muhammad Khan served as Member, Punjab Assembly during 1990-93 and his another cousin, Maj (R) Malik Azam Khan Gheba remained Member, Punjab Assembly during 2012-13.
