Syed Ali Haider Gilani son of Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani was born on April 10, 1986 in Lahore and passed A levels in 2006. An agriculturist, who has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2018. He has travelled to various countries including North America, Europe, Middle East, Far East and Central Asia. He hails from acclaimed political and influential Sufi family of Multan and is a descendant of the Sufi saint Sayyid Musa Pak Shahid Gilani. His grandfather, Makhdoom Alamdar Hussain Gilani, who was a signatory to the resolution of Pakistan, remained Member, Punjab Legislative Assembly during 1951-55 and held the portfolios of Minister for Medical and Public Health & Local Bodies, Health, Medical, Local Government & Buildings and Roads. He also served in second Constituent Assembly of Pakistan and functioned as Minister for Health Punjab during 1955-58; and Minister of State for Power & Works during 1958. He His father, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani served as Chairman, District Council Multan during 1983; as Member, National Assembly of Pakistan and functioned as Minister for Housing & Works during 1985-86; Minister for Railways during 1986; Minister for Tourism Division, Housing & Works (Works Division) during 1989-90. He also served as Speaker National Assembly during 1993-97; and Prime Minister of Pakistan during 2008-12. His brother, Syed Abdul Kadir Gilani was Member, Punjab Assembly during 2008-12; functioned as Chairman, Public Accounts Committee-II and Member National Assembly of Pakistan during 2012-13. His another brother, Syed Ali Musa Gilani remained Member National Assembly during 2011-13. His uncle, Syed Ahmad Mujtaba Gillani served as Tehsil Nazim Multan during 2002-06; and as Member Punjab Assembly during 2010-13.
