Personal Career & Interests

Miss Talat Yaqub daughter of Mian Muhammad Yaqub was born in Lahore. She obtained the degree of LL.B. in 1973 from Punjab University Law College, Lahore. She functioned as Justice, Lahore High Court, Lahore during 1994-96. She has attended various International Conferences held in Moscow (1987), in Sweden (1989) and in Sudan (1994). She served as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2002-07 and functioned as Member, Standing Committee on Law & Parliamentary affairs. She has returned to the Assembly in general elections 2008 against one of the seats reserved for women. Her sister, Begum Rehana Sarwar was a Member of Punjab Assembly/Parliamentary Secretary during 1972-77 and a Member of National Assembly/Federal Minister for Women Development during 1988-90.
