Mrs Mahmuda S Cheema wife of Ch Muhammad Sarwar Cheema was born at Gojra, District Toba Tek Singh. She obtained the degree of MA (Urdu) in 1967 and that of B.Ed. in 1973 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. She served as Member, District Assembly, Sialkot during 1997-99 and 2006-07; as Member, UC No 12, District Sialkot during 2000-04; as Member, Monitoring Committees on Health, Education and Accounts, District Sialkot during 2004-07, as Member of Central Committee of Allama Iqbal Civil Hospital, District Sialkot, and as General Secretary, District Sialkot during 1990-2006, and is actively working with NGOs for human rights, SAHE & HAWA, and as President of NGO for Human Rights, Tehsil Sialkot during 1996. She has travelled to UK, USA, Canada and Saudi Arabia. She has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in general elections 2008 against one of the seats reserved for women.
