Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Khan Leghari son of Sardar Jamil Ahmed Khan Leghari was born on August 20, 1964 in Lahore. He obtained his early education from Aitchison College, Lahore and graduated from University of Buckingham in 1987. He is an agriculturist and a landlord, who was a Member of Punjab Assembly during 2002-07. His great grandfather, Nawab Sir Muhammad Jamal Khan Leghari first represented Dera Ghazi Khan in the Punjab Legislative Council in 1921, and later in the Punjab Legislative Assemblies till 1949. He had the honour to chair the first session of West Punjab Legislative Assembly after independence and the opening session of the 1951 Punjab Legislative Assembly. His grandfather, Nawabzada Sardar Ata Muhammad Khan Leghari ICS, was a Member of Punjab Assembly during 1972-77 and a Member of Majlis-e-Shura in 1980. His uncle, Mr Muhammad Omer Khan Leghari was a Member of Punjab Assembly during 1985-88. His uncle, Mr Muhammad Jaffar Khan Leghari was a Member of Punjab Assembly during 1985-88, 1988-90 and 1993-96 and is a sitting MNA. The former President of Pakistan, Sardar Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari is also his uncle.
