Mr Hamid Nasir Chatha son of Ch Salah-ud-Din Chatha was born on November 15, 1944 in Lahore. He obtained his master’s degree in Political Science from Government College, Lahore in 1966 followed by Bar-at-Law from Lincoln’s Inn, U.K. A veteran politician, who served as Member, National Assembly for four terms during 1985-88, 1990-93, 1993-96 and 2002-07 and also functioned as Speaker of the National Assembly during 1986-88. As a federal minister, he held the portfolios of Information & Broadcasting and Science & Technology during 1985-86 and also served as federal minister for Planning during 1990-93. He has also served as Provincial Minister of Punjab holding the portfolios of Health and Education during 1981-85. He has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in general elections 2008.
