Malik Muhammad Javed Iqbal Awan son of Malik Karam Bakhsh Awan was born on November 7, 1951 at Sargodha. He obtained the degree of LL.B. in 1976 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. A businessman, who was elected as President and Secretary of Students Union of Government College, Sargodha and also remained President, Islamic Society, University of the Punjab, Lahore. He has served as Chairman, Union Council Padhrar, District Khushab during 1979 and as Member, District Council Khushab during 1998. He served as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2002-07; and functioned as Chairman, Standing Committee on Food during 2003-07. He has returned to the Punjab Assembly for the second consecutive term in general elections 2008. His father remained MNA during 1972-77 and his brother, Malik Muhammad Bashir Awan served as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1988-90 and 1993-96.
