Parliamentary Caucus for Child Rights

No.PAP/Legis-1(81)/2010/233.      Pursuant to a Motion adopted by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in its sitting held on January 10, 2025, moved by Mr Sohaib Ahmed Malik, Minister for Law, and in exercise of the powers conferred on him under rule 235-B of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Speaker, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab has been pleased to establish a ‘Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights’ comprising the following members:

2.         The Speaker, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab shall be the Patron of the Caucus.

3.         The Caucus shall serve as platform for members to collaborate on specific issues, promote dialogue, and advance the interests of the Assembly.

4.         The Caucus, with the concurrence of the Patron, may frame its own procedure for its internal functioning; provided that this procedure shall not be inconsistent with the Rules of Procedure of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997.

5.         The Caucus shall regularly report its activities and recommendations to the Assembly. The Secretary General of the Assembly shall ensure that these reports are made available to all members of the Assembly.

6.         The Speaker/Patron shall have the authority to determine the duration of the Caucus and may dissolve it if it is deemed to have fulfilled its purpose or if it is no longer serving the interests of the Assembly.

7.         All the Departments and Authorities shall extend their support to the Caucus.
