It is a distinct honor to host the First Joint CPA Asia and South-East Asia Regional Conference from February 6–10, 2025, in Lahore, Pakistan. This historic gathering of parliamentarians marks a significant milestone in the journey of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. While CPA Asia Region conferences have been held previously, this is the first time that the Provincial Assembly of Punjab, as a branch of the CPA Asia Region, has extended its reach to include and invite the CPA South-East Asia Region to collaborate in a unified forum. This groundbreaking initiative embodies our commitment to fostering inclusivity and addressing the shared challenges of our interconnected regions.

The theme, “Parliamentary Strategies for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Futures,” highlights the critical role of legislatures in crafting policies that promote equity, sustainability, and innovation. Through our deliberations, I am confident we will set the foundation for stronger collaboration and actionable outcomes, culminating in the adoption of the "Lahore Charter." 

Lahore, with its rich cultural heritage and welcoming spirit, is proud to host this landmark event. I look forward to meaningful discussions and fruitful exchanges that will pave the way for a more cohesive and progressive future for our regions.
