TILAWAT, NAAT & NATIONAL ANTHEM
The sitting commenced with recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation, followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool ﷺ. National Anthem was played for the first time in the history of Provincial Assembly of Punjab following amendment in the Rules on September 9, 2024. |

ANNOUNCEMENT BY SPEAKER
Mr Speaker briefed the House regarding recent amendments in the Rules of Procedure Punjab Assembly which bring these Rules in consonance with the best practices and at par with National Assembly like introduction of National Anthem, relinquishing and delegation of so many powers vested with Speaker, empowering Standing Committees, taking a significant step towards enhancing the effectiveness, accountability and transparency of its members through performance bench marking and evaluation matrix. |

RESOLUTION
Mr Amjad Ali Javed moved a resolution for condemnation of the action of the Counsel General and staff members of Afghanistan in disrespecting the National Anthem of Pakistan during a ceremony in Peshawar and calls on the Federal Government to make the Afghan Government aware of feelings of Pakistani people and a protest should be recorded. The resolution was unanimously adopted by the House. |
MATTERS OTHER THAN POINTS OF ORDER
The Members raising matters other than points of order under newly inserted Rule 113-A. The Chair directed to send the extracts of proceedings to Minister for Parliamentary Affairs for onward transmission to the concerned for action. |
