Mr Amjad Ali Javed moved his Motion that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the end of the two-year degree program since 2018, deeming degrees issued after 2018 illegal. This decision has impacted millions of students, who have earned degrees through formal admissions process and fees.

GRANT OF LEAVE FOR SPUPESION OF RULES

Mr Mujtaba Shuja Ur Rehman, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, moved a motion for suspension of relevant rules for taking up Government Business on Private Members’ Day. The motion was adopted by the House.

RESOLUTION

Mr Muhammad Bilal Yamin moved a resolution, after suspension of Rules, that the Local Government Act mandates a mandatory population of 25,000 people for union councils in Punjab. However, due to significant population disparities in plains and hilly areas, the House recommends that the relevant law be amended to limit the Murree district council population to 6,000 instead of the current 25,000, and implementing the establishment of a Murree District Council. The resolution was pended to move it again with amendment to include other small population areas along with Murree.

PRE-BUDGET DISCUSSION

Mr Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Minister for Finance initiated pre-budget discussion and stated that they have shared a proforma with members for sharing their proposals for inclusion in the next budget. Mr Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Mr Muhammad Abdullah Warraich, Mr Muhammad Moeen Ud Din Riaz, Mr Muhammad Awais, Mr Imtiaz Mehmood, Rana Muhammad Saleem and Mr Shahab Ud Din Khan participated in the discussion.
