Question Hour
Questions relating to Agriculture, Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control and Law & Parliamentary Affairs Departments were on the agenda and were disposed of because opposition had boycotted the Assembly proceedings to show solidarity with media and Members of Press Gallery, who had boycotted the Assembly proceedings in a protest against Minister for Information & Culture for using offensive language against media.
Laying of Report
Raja Yawar Kamal Khan presented before the House the report of Special Committee No.1 in respect of “The Punjab Domestic Workers Bill 2018 (Bill No. 30 of 2018)”.
Fateha
The House offered Fateha on the sad demise of Mr. Rashid Bhukari, PTI leader, who was assassinated in Dera Gazi Khan.
Extension in Time Limit for Laying the Report
On a Motion moved by Raja Yawar Kamal Khan, the House granted two months extension to Special Committee No.1 for laying its report on “Adjournment Motion No.190 of 2018”.
Adjournment Motions
Two Adjournment Motions were taken up. Ms Mussarat Jamshed moved an Adjournment Motion regarding illegal occupation of land owned by Govt. College For Woman Ghulam Muhammadabad Faisalabad, was kept pending and the Motion moved by Mr Muhammad Tahir Pervaiz on 08-01-2019 regarding storage of expired medicines worth millions of rupees at Institute of Cardiology Faisalabad, was disposed of after replied by the concerned Minister.
Government Business
Introduction of Bill
Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs introduced “The Punjab Occupational Safety and Health Bill 2019” which was kept pending.
Zero Hour
Four Zero Hour Notices were taken up. Two Notices were moved by Sheikh Alla-ud-Din, one regarding registration of imported luxury vehicles in Islamabad due to the imposition of luxury tax and Exorbitant token tax in Punjab on luxury vehicles, hence, resulting in heavy loss of revenue to the province and the second Notice regarding construction and installation of Advance Protection Barriars on the side of all under passes in Lahore to prevent human loss as well as damage to the bridges. Moreover two Notices were moved by Ms Hina Pervaiz Butt, one regarding non-functional water filtration plants installed at G.O.R-II, Bahawalpur House, Lahore due to their non-maintenance and the second Notice regarding closure of Fateh Garh bridge due to the construction of U-turn from Mall Road to Harbanspura, Lahore were disposed of after replied by the concerned Ministers.
The House was then adjourned at 02:28 p.m. to meet on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
