Panel of Chairmen
Under Rule 13(1) of Rules of the Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, Mr. Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Secretary Assembly announced the Panel of Chairmen nominated by Mr. Speaker in the following order:-
1. Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Warraich (PP-29)
2. Mian Shafi Muhammad (PP-258)
3. Muhammad Raza Hussain Bukhari PP-274)
4. Ms. Zakia Khan (W-331)
Suspension of Rules
On a motion moved by Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs under Rule 234 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, the House granted leave to suspend Rule 115 and others of the Rules ibid, for taking up the following Resolution.
Resolution
Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs moved the Resolution condemning the assassination of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S). The Resolution stated that the incident had deprived the country of a renowned religious scholar, a credible political leader and a sagacious figure. It was further added that the religious and political services of Maulana Samiul Haq will always be remembered. The House also expresses condolences with the family of the deceased and assured that exemplary punishment will be awarded to the killers, was unanimously passed by the House.
Fateha
The House offered Fatheh on the sad demise of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S).
On the request of Mr. Nadeem Kamran, MPA, the Chair allowed suspension of relevant Rules of Rules of Procedure of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, to take up discussion on Law and Order.

General Discussion on Law and Order took place in the House. Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Laghari, Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal, Minister for Industries, Commerce & Investment, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Ch Zaheer Ud Din, Minister for Public Prosecution, Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, Fayaz-ul-Hasan Chohan, Minister for Information & Culture, Ms. Ishrat Ashraf, Mr. Shahab-Ud-Din Khan, Mr. Sami Ullah Khan, Sardar Ahmad Ali Khan Darishak, Mr. Syed Usman Mehmood, Ms. Zainab Umair, Mr. Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Mr. Muhammad Nadeem Qureshi, Mr. Mujtaba Shuja Ur Rehman. Ms. Sadia Sohail Rana and Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Rasool participated in the discussion.
The Chair then adjourned the House sine die at 3:00 p.m.

"صوبائی اسمبلی پنجاب کا یہ ایوان، ممتاز مذہبی و سیاسی شخصیت، مولانا سمیع الحق کے بہیمانہ قتل پر اپنے گہرے رنج و غم کا اظہار کرتا ہے۔ ان کی شہادت سے ملک ایک جید عالم دین، ممتاز مذہبی سکالر اور معتبر سیاسی رہنما سے محروم ہو گیا ہے۔ مرحوم دو مرتبہ سینٹ کے رکن رہے۔ ان کی دینی و سیاسی خدمات کو ہمیشہ یاد رکھا جائے گا۔ یہ ایوان مرحوم کے اہل خانہ سے دلی ہمدردی اور تعزیت کا اظہار کرتا ہے اور مرحوم کے درجات کی بلندی کے لئے دُعاگو ہے۔
یہ ایوان اس یقین کا اظہار کرتا ہے کہ مولانا کے قاتلوں کا جلد سراغ لگا کر انہیں نشان عبرت بنایا جائے گا۔"
