Suspension of Rules

On a motion moved by, Mr Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Cooperatives, Environment Protection & Parliamentary Affairs under Rule 234 of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, the House granted leave to suspend the Rule 115 and other relevant rules of the Rules ibid, for taking up the following Resolution, which was passed by the House.

Resolution

Mr Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Cooperatives, Environment Protection & Parliamentary Affairs moved a Resolution that Mr. Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan in his press conference dated 06 October 2022, while disgracing the position of the Prime Minister, called the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan as a fraud who himself was the biggest fraud. Mr. Shahbaz Sharif earlier vowed to extract national wealth from Zardari otherwise his name should be changed, but now he had formed an alliance with him to damage national interest. His son was a proclaimed offender and his brother was convicted and absconder while he himself was facing court cases. His entire family was full of liars. Consequently, family members could not form undivided stance till to date on Aven Field Flats in London. The Prime Minister should remember that he had given an affidavit for the return of his brother Mr. Nawaz Sharif and its non-implementation falls into the category of fraud. The House strongly condemned the remarks of the Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif and demanded that he should think before speaking and stop humiliating the position of the Prime Minister of Pakistan at national and International forums.

The House was then adjourned at 06:10 p.m. to meet on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 02:00 p.m.
