Panel of Chairmen

In terms of Rule 13 (1) of The Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997, Mr. Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Secretary Assembly announced the Panel of Chairmen as nominated by Mr. Speaker in the following order:-

1.      Mian Shafi Muhammad (PP-258)

2.      Nawab Zada Waseem Khan Badozai (PP-213)

3.      Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Warraich (PP-29)

4.      Ms. Shazia Abid (W-363)

Fateha

The House offered Fateha on the sad demise of people died in the incident occurred in Murree & for people died in Anarkali bomb blast, brother of Syed Sumsam Ali Shah Bukhari, Minister for Consolidation of Holdings and Wildlife & Fisheries, father of Malik Karam Elahi Bandial, Ex-MPA and father of Mr Muhammad Afzal Gill, MPA (PP-248). The House also observed one minute silence on the sad demise of father of Mr Mahinder Pall Singh, Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights.

Motion to Refer Audit Reports to PAC-II and Extension in the Time Limit for Submission of Reports

The Motion moved by Nawab Zada Waseem Khan Badozai that the Audit Report on the Accounts of (Works), C&W, HUD & PHE, Irrigation and Danish Schools & Centers of Excellence Authority Government of the Punjab for the Audit year 2016-17 and Audit Report on Accounts of Government of the Punjab, for the Audit year 2016-17, which were referred to Public Accounts Committee-1 during previous Assembly may be referred to Public Accounts Committee-II of the present Assembly to examine and report within a year and the time period for submission of the Reports of PAC-II expiring till 07th March 2022, may be extended for a further period of one year was carried.

Laying of Reports

Ms. Asia Amjad  presented before the House the report of Standing Committee on Higher Education in respect of “The Lahore City University Bill 2021 (Bill No.86 of 2021)”.

Mian Shafi Muhammad presented before the House the report of Standing Committee on School Education in respect of “The Punjab Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Bill 2020 (Bill No.47 of 2020)”.

Question Hour

Questions relating to Revenue & Colonies (Board of Revenue) and Disaster Management Department were kept pending.

General Discussion on Murree Incident & Availability of Fertilizers for Farmers was initiated by Mr. Muhammad Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Leader of Opposition and followed by Makhdoom Syed Usman Mehmood and Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.       

The Speaker then prorogued the House at 05:40 p.m.
