The House offered Fateha on the sad demise of Mr Shahan Malik, Ex-MPA, Wife of Mr Abid Sher Ali, Ex-MNA and father of Malik Umar Farooq, MPA.

Question Hour

Questions relating to Local Government & Community Development Department were asked and answered by Mr Ahmad Khan, the concerned Parliamentary Secretary.

Zero Hour

Eight Zero Hour Notices were taken up. The Notice of Mr Sami Ullah Khan moved on 22-06-2021 that the approved project of Ring Road Rawalpindi was changed by the administration to favour many private housing schemes and politicians hence, bringing a loss of Rs.25 billion to the national exchequer, the Notice of Mr Agha Ali Haider moved on 28-05-2021 that Provincial Government owned 50 acres land in Syed Wala District Nankana Sahib was allotted to local landlords under Tha Khwah Scheme, which was not saleable and non-transferable but allottee were selling the land after constructing illegal Housing Colonies on it, the Notice of Ms Sajida Begum moved on 22-06-2021 that in violation of monthly salary fixed @ Rs.17,500/- by the Government Pioneer Cement Factory Khushab was paying Rs.15,000/- to its workers, who also raised their voice and protested against this injustice. Consequently, Factory Administration started paying them salary fixed by the Government but lodged fake complaints in the Police Station against Mr Imran, one of its worker who was a cancer patient and the Notice moved by Mian Manazar Hussain Ranjha regarding calls being received from unknown telephone numbers by various people in PP-74 District Sargodha to extort money from them and threatening them to be killed in case of non-payment of extortion money. Later representative of the caller arrives and collects money and those who did not pay money or refuse to pay were killed or injured and shops were burnt due to non-payment and listlessness by the Administration, were kept pending. The Notice of Ms Shawana Bashir moved on 22-06-2021 that parking fee of Rs.30/- was being charged in Government Hospitals which was heavy on the pockets of poor people, as attendants come to Hospital several times to look after the patients, to bring medicines, food etc., which was a financial burden and demanded to bring relief to them either by reducing parking fee or cancel it altogether, the Notice of Ms Uzma Kardar moved on 22-06-2021 that Ms Hina resident of Khanewal fell victim to Mr Shafi, SHO, Police Station City Khanewal who swindled Rs. 500,000/- from her on the pretext of giving her job and physically harassed her alongwith his friends which she complained to DPO, Khanewal but no action had yet been taken against the accused, the Notice of Ms Khadija Umer moved on 29-06-2021 that due to negligence of Administration Thallium Testing Machine of Ch Parvez Elahi Institute of Cardiology, Multan was out of order for the last 3 months because its Gamma Camera was not working, the Notice moved by Ms Neelum Hayat Malik that despite ban, ice from contaminated water was being prepared in ice factories located in Lahore and its whereabouts. Regardless, clear instructions issued by the Administration that filtered water would be used in the preparation of ice, not a single factory in the district had a filtration plant and the water used to prepare ice was never checked in any government laboratory, rather, rusty equipment and machines were being used. Moreover, employees working in these factories did not have health certificates, were disposed of after replied by the concerned Ministers.

Privilege Motion

The Privilege Motion moved by Ms Rukhsana Kausar regarding misbehavior of Mr Azeem, ASI and Mr Asim, a Police official posted at Police Station, Shad Bagh with the Member concerned, was kept pending on the request of Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.

Introduction of Bill

Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs introduced The Stamp (Amendment) Bill 2021”, before the House, which was referred to the Standing Committee on Revenue, Relief and Consolidation with the directions to submit its report within two months.

Laying of Report

Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs laid before the House the Audit Report on the Accounts of 4 Daanish Schools and 3 Centers of Excellence of Punjab (North) for the Audit Year 2018-19 which was referred to the Public Accounts Committee No.II, with the directions to examine and report within one year.

The House was then adjourned at 06:35 p.m. to meet on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 02:00 p.m.
