(iii)       Audit Report on the Accounts of Communication and Works, Housing, Urban Developments & Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, Local Government & Community Development, Energy Departments and Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab, Government of the Punjab for the Audit Year 2019-20.

Questions relating to Mines & Minerals Department were kept pending on the request of concerned Minister.

 

Call Attention Notice

 

The Call Attention Notices of Mr Ali Akhtar regarding attack by Police at the residence of Mr Umar Hayat, located at 240 More, Mohalla Ismaeel Abad within the premises of District Faisalabad Police Station City Jaranwala, hurting women present in the House, hence, encroaching their right to be protected and the Notice of Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan regarding dacoity of rupees five lacs on gun point from Mr Shahzad resident of Nizam Pura at Jagowala Chowk Chunian within the premises of Depalpur Road Dolaywala Kasur, were kept pending.

 

Adjournment Motions

 

Seven Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Adjournment Motions of Ch Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar and Syed Hassan Murtaza were kept pending. Three Adjournment Motions of Sheikh Alla-ud-Din and one each by Ms Hina Parvez Butt and Ms Shazia Abid were disposed of.

 

Oath

 

Ms Tallat Mehmood, Member-elect (PP-51) made an oath as administered by the Speaker and signed the Roll of Members. The seat was vacated after the death of Mr Shaukat Manzoor Cheema, who died on 03 June, 2020.

 

Laying of Reports 

 

Mr. Muhammad Basharat Raja, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs laid before the House the following reports, which were referred to the Public Accounts Committee No. II, with the directions to examine and report within one year:

 

(i)         Audit Reports on the Accounts of Expenditure of Government of the Punjab for the Audit Year 2019-20 (Vol-I & II).

 

(ii)        Special Study on Stock of Stone-Irrigation Department, Government of the Punjab for the Audit Year 2017-18.

 

(iii)       Audit Report on the Accounts of Communication and Works, Housing, Urban Developments & Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, Local Government & Community Development, Energy Departments and Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab, Government of the Punjab for the Audit Year 2019-20.

 

Suspension of Rules

 

On a motion moved by Ms Sadia Sohail Rana in terms of Rule 234 of The Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997, the House granted leave to suspend Rule 115 and other relevant rules of the Rules ibid, for taking up the following Resolution which was unanimously passed by the House:

 

Resolution

 

Ms Sadia Sohail Rana moved a Resolution congratulating the women of Pakistan on the occasion of International Women’s Day, who were rendering valuables services in every walk of life like other women in the world. The resolution added that it was due to women that family becomes stronger, society becomes empowered and there was a nation building process and without empowering them no society could become welfare society. The House expressed solidarity with all women of Pakistan and resolved to support them to get their economic, social and political rights as enumerated in the Constitution and to bring them in the national mainstream as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and would take every possible step to empower them. The House condemned inhuman attitude being committed to the women of Kashmir and Palestinian and expressed solidarity with them.

 

The House was then adjourned at 03:49 p.m. to meet on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 02:00 p.m.

"صوبائی اسمبلی پنجاب کا یہ ایوان آج خواتین کے عالمی دن کے موقع پر دُنیا بھر کی خواتین کی طرح پاکستانی خواتین کو ہر شعبہ ہائے زندگی میں قابل قدر خدمات سرانجام دینے پر مبارکباد پیش کرتا ہے۔ اس ایوان کی رائے ہے کہ خواتین کی بدولت ہی خاندان مضبوط، معاشرے بااختیار اور اقوام کی تعمیر ہوتی ہے اور یہ کہ خواتین کو بااختیار بنائے بغیر کوئی معاشرہ فلاحی معاشرہ نہیں بن سکتا۔ پنجاب اسمبلی کا یہ ایوان اس موقع پر اُن تمام پاکستانی خواتین  سے اظہار یکجہتی کرتا ہے  جو زندگی کے ہر شعبے میں اپنے حقوق کے حصول کے لئے کاوشیں کر رہی ہیں اور اُنہیں خراج تحسین پیش کرتا ہے۔ یہ ایوان اس عزم کا اظہار کرتا ہے کہ پاکستان کی خواتین کو معاشی، سماجی اور سیاسی شعبوں میں آئین میں دیئے گئے حقوق دلانے اور بابائے قوم قائداعظم محمد علی جناحؒ کی بصیرت کی روشنی میں قومی دھارے میں لانے کے لئے ان کی بھرپور حمایت کی جائے گی اور انہیں بااختیار بنانے کی ہر ممکن کوشش کی جائے گی۔

یہ ایوان کشمیر اور فلسطینی خواتین کے ساتھ ہونے والے انسانیت سوز سلوک کی مذمت کرتا ہے اور اُن خواتین کے ساتھ اظہار یکجہتی کرتا ہے۔"
