Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker, assumed the Chair and proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and its Urdu translation followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH).
Question Hour
Questions relating to Communication & Works Department were kept pending due to the absence of concerned Minister/Parliamentary Secretary.
Privilege Motions
Two Privilege Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Ch Ashraf Ali Ansari against the officers of Higher Education Department for giving wrong answer to the Adjournment Motion moved by the concerned Member was kept pending and other Motion moved by Ch. Shabbir Ahmed on not attending phone calls of the concerned Member by the Chairperson, Technical Education Board, Lahore was referred to the Committee on Privileges.
The Motions were answered by Ch. Nazar Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Call Attention Notices
Call Attention Notice Kept Pending on 18 February, 4 and 14 April and 12 May 2016
The Call Attention Notice which was kept pending on 18 February, 4 and 14 April and 12 May 2016 moved by Ms. Faiza Ahmad Malik regarding murder on resistance of a security Incharge naming Noor of a Rice Mill located at Kot Kizra, Gujranwala and looting Rs.5 million during a dacoity near Lohianwala by-pass was disposed of.
Current Call Attention Notices
Two Call Attention Notices were taken up. The Notice moved by Dr. Muhammad Afzal regarding killing of Muhammad Ijaz, s/o Muhammad Hafeez after kidnapping and rapping by the unknown accusers was disposed of as the mover withdrew his Notice and other Notice moved by Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar regarding newspaper report about death of driver due to the torture by the traffic warden was disposed of.
The Notices were answered by Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Adjournment Motions
Eight Adjournment Motions were taken up. The Motion moved by Dr. Syed Waseem Akhtar regarding newspaper report about shortage of Dialysis Units in public hospitals of Lahore, the Motion moved by Dr. Muhammad Afzal regarding sale of poisonous and harmful water in the name of mineral water in connivance with the staff of District Government, Police and other departments, the Motion moved by Mr. Amjad Ali Javaid regarding newspaper report about 450 agriculture scientists moved abroad for better future due to the government agriculture policies, the Motion moved by Al-Haaj Muhammad Ilyas Chinioti regarding increase of road accidents due to the incompetency of the drivers at Chiniot and its suburbs were kept pending till next week. The Motion moved by Mr. Ahmad Shah Khagga regarding newspaper report about construction of new buildings without approval of the site Map at Lahore division with the help of LDA, TMAs and Walled City of Lahore, Authority officials, the Motion moved by Ch Aamir Sultan Cheema regarding newspaper report about only one teacher is available for eleven percent students at Lahore District were disposed of. The Motion moved by Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed regarding newspaper report about protest by the farmers at Mall Road Lahore demanding reduction in the electricity and fertilizer rates and giving subsidy by the government, the Motion moved by Mrs. Faiza Ahmad Malik regarding police torture and accusing them in FIRs on the Anjuman Muzareen Okara, which were demanding land ownership rights were kept pending.
The answers were given by the concerned Ministers/Parliamentary Secretaries.
At this stage, Mr. Speaker welcomed the delegation of Vice-Chancellors and position holder students from Balochistan to this august House.

Mr. Sajjad Haider Gujjar, Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering opened the discussion on Annual Report of the Parks and Horticulture Authority Lahore for the year 2013-2014 in the House.
At this stage, the quorum was pointed out and the House was then adjourned to meet on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.
