MAJOR (Retd) TAHIR SADIK, MPA

PP-12 (Attock): PML(N)

Major (Retd) Tahir Sadik, son of Sardar Muhammad Sadiq Khan, was born on December 1, 1950 at Attock; and, graduated from Pakistan Military Academy Kakul in 1971. After serving the Pakistan Army, he was transferred to the Punjab civil service, which he resigned after seven years, to embark upon politics. Now, a businessman and agriculturist, he has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997. He is Special Assistant (Ceased to hold office of Special Assistant upon proclamation of Emergency dated 12-10-99) to the Chief Minister, Punjab.

MR TAJ MUHAMMAD KHANZADA D.S.O., M.C., MPA

PP-13 (Attock): PML(N)

Mr Taj Muhammad Khanzada, son of Capt (Retd) Ajaib Khan OBE, OBI, IOM, was born on December 29, 1914, at Shadi Khan, District Attock. After passing out from Military Academy, Dehra Dun, he was commissioned in 1935. In recognition of his gallantry and devotion to duty, he was awarded M.C. (Military cross) in 1939 in Waziristan (Razmak), D.S.O (Distinguished Service Order) in Malaya and Bar in 1941, and Mention in despatches in 1942 in London Gazette. He resigned from the Indian Army in 1945 on account of joining the Indian National Army. In 1947, he commanded freedom fighters for liberation of Kashmir and for gallantry, he was awarded Fakhr-e-Kashmir.

In industry, he held several important positions, such as Chairman All Pakistan Sugar Mills Association, Chairman Khyber Textile Mills Ltd, director of a number of industrial concerns such as Ferozsons Ltd, Borewala Textile, Woolen Mills Lawrencepur. A social worker who has travelled almost all over the world; and, as representative of Pakistan Government, he went to USA, Malaya, Indonesia, UK and Japan.

A senior politician, who served as member of the Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan from 1962-65; and, as member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1972-77, 1990-93 and 1993-96. He has again been elected to the said Assembly in 1997.

SARDAR MUHAMMAD SARFRAZ KHAN, MPA

PP-14 (Attock): PML(N)

Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz, son of Sardar Dost Muhammad Khan, was born in 1931 at Khanda, District Attock; is a matriculate from Deans High School Rawalpindi; and, comes of a well-known political family. He has made extensive travels, including official visits to Germany, Turkey, USA and France in 1986. He served as member District Council Attock upto 1958. Having been first elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, he served it upto 1977; functioned as member of the National Assemby from 1985 to 1988; and has again been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997.

MR ASIF ALI MALIK, MPA

PP-15 (Attock): PML(N)

Mr Asif Ali Malik, son of Malik Fateh Khan, was born at Dhallian, District Attock on June 8, 1948; is a Law Graduate (LL.B); and, comes of a prominent political family. His close relatives are and have been actively participating in the national politics. An Advocate, who served as member of Zila Council Attock from 1983 to 1991; and, has been a sitting member of the Punjab Bar Council since 1995. He worked as Secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League for district Attock for twelve years; and, has been elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997. He visited UK in 1983 and 1987. He is the Parliamentary Secretary (Ceased to hold office of Parliamentary Secretary upon proclamation of Emergency dated 12-10-99) for Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering since October 13, 1997.
