Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, son of Rana Muhammad Aslam Noon, was born on November 10, 1962 at Multan. He obtained the degree of M.A. (Political Science) in 1983, that of LL.B. in 1988 from Baha-ud-Din Zakariya University, Multan and that of M.A. (History) in 1989 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. A practising lawyer and an agriculturist, who served as Chief Protocol Officer, Pakistan International Airlines during 1985-90. He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab contesting election on both National and Provincial seats in General Elections 2002. He worked as Minister for Agriculture Marketing from November 24, 2003 to November 30, 2006. He is functioning as Minister for Labour and Human Resource since December 1, 2006. His uncle, Rana Taj Ahmed Noon was MNA during 1972-77, 1977 and 1988-90; his uncle, Rana Shaukat Hayat Noon, was MNA during 1985-88; his uncle, Rana Gul Muhammad Noon, was Member, Punjab Legislative Assembly during 1951-55 and Member, Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan during 1956-58; his brother Rana Suhail Ahmad Noon served as Member Punjab Assembly/Parliamentary Secretary/Advisor to Chief Minister during 1993-96; and his cousin Rana Ejaz Ahmad Noon is a sitting Member Punjab Assembly (PP-204).
