Mian Imran Masood son of Mian Masood Akhtar was born on May 25, 1963 at Gujrat. He obtained the degree of LL.B. in 1989 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. A practising lawyer and a businessman, who has continuously been elected as Member of the Punjab Assembly since 1990. He functioned as Parliamentary Secretary for Health & Population Welfare during 1990-93, as Member, Public Accounts Committee during 1993-96 and as Chairman, Chief Minister Task Force on Education during 1997-99. In these capacities, he visited Indonesia, China, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh and England. He also had study tours of the USA in 1997 and France in 1998. He has attended International Conference Federation, held in Quebec, Canada in 1997. He also visited Oslo, Norway on the invitation of Mayor of Oslo, Norway. He has been elected as Member Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in General Elections 2002, and is functioning as Minister for Education since January 4, 2003. His uncle, Mian Muhammad Akbar, was Member, Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan during 1962-65 and his uncle, Mian Muhammad Rashid, was Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 1985-88.
