Syed Abdul Kadir Gillani son of Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani was born on April 29, 1981 in Lahore. He obtained the degree of LL.B. (Hons) in 2003 from University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. He has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in bye-elections 2008 and is functioning as Chairman, Public Accounts Committee-II Punjab. He has visited UK, USA, Canada, Europe and India (to attend SAARC Conference). He hails from an influential and spiritual family of Multan. His father served as Federal Minister for Housing and Works and later for Railways during 1985-86; as Federal Minister for Tourism, Housing and Works during 1990; as Federal Minister for Local Government and Rural Development in 1993 during the interim government; as Speaker, National Assembly during 1993-97; and presently serving as Prime Minister of Pakistan since March 25, 2008
