Mr Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari son of Lt Col (Retd) Rafiq Ahmed Khan Leghari (ex-MPA) was born on June 9, 1963 at Dera Ghazi Khan. After initial schooling at Aitchison College Lahore, he studied engineering at the University of Oklahoma, USA. He obtained certification in Financial Markets from the Securities Institute of Australia and also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Economics from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. He was a Member of Punjab Assembly during 2002-07 and served as Chairman, Standing Committee on Local Governmnent and Rural Development. He belongs to a renowned political family which has been represented in the Parliaments since even before partition. His father served as Member, Punjab Assembly during 1993-96 and 1997-99; his uncle, Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari was the President of Pakistan and is a sitting MNA; another uncle, Mr Muhammad Jaffer Khan Leghari is MNA; and his cousin, Mr Muhammad Arshad Khan Leghari is also a sitting MNA. His other cousins, Mr Yousaf Khan Leghari, MPA (PP-246) and Mr Muhammad Jamal Khan Leghari (Senator) are also sitting parliamentarians. Mr Leghari is an avid reader and a keen weekend golfer. He is a member of the Public Accounts Committee.
